The service

Hanaso is conversation practice with AI-generated characters. Their Japanese, corrections and dictionary glosses are produced automatically and can be wrong. Hanaso is a practice tool, not certified instruction or a test of your level.

Your account

• You must be 13 or older (16 or older in the EU and UK).
• Keep your password private. You're responsible for activity on your account.
• You can delete your account at any time from the You page.

Acceptable use

Don't use Hanaso to generate harmful, hateful, sexual or illegal content, to attack or overload the service, to get around limits, or to access other people's data. We may suspend accounts that do.

Plus subscription

• Free accounts get one new episode per day. Plus removes that limit.
• Plus costs US$11.99 per month or US$79.99 per year (your card may be charged in your local currency), billed through Stripe.
• New subscriptions start with a 7-day free trial. Cancel before it ends and you won't be charged.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel any time from You → Manage billing; you keep Plus until the end of the period you paid for.
• Payments are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.

Your content

You keep what you write. You let us store and process it to run the service, including sending it to our AI provider as described in the Privacy Policy.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Hanaso available but can't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change features; if a change materially affects Plus, we'll tell you first and you can cancel.

Liability

Hanaso is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.
